Stafford County – Grant Funds Received

September 4, 2013

EMPGStafford County was notified this week that they will receive $7,014 in 2013 EMPG Emergency Management Performance Grant funds.

The purpose of the EMPG Program is to make grants to States to assist State, local, territorial, and tribal governments in preparing for all hazards. The funds help provide a system of emergency preparedness for the protection of life and property.

The Federal Government, through the EMPG Program, provides necessary direction, coordination, and guidance, and provides necessary assistance, as authorized in this title so that a comprehensive emergency preparedness system exists at all levels for all hazards.

The program plays an important role in the implementation of the National Preparedness System (NPS) by supporting the building, sustainment, and delivery of core capabilities essential to achieving the National Preparedness Goal (NPG) of a secure and resilient Nation.

This is the third year in a row (and the only three years) that Stafford County has received these funds.

It takes a lot of time and knowledge to find these funds that are available and then to apply for them. You have done a great job organizing the county assets for fire portection and health services. Thank You, from one of the silent majority that support you and your efforts to improve the services for Stafford County.
