3-100-35 – A Recipe For Fire

June 12, 2013

IMG_0542Three wires, 100 degree heat, and 35 mph wind gusts. It’s a recipe for fire. And early this evening that’s exactly what the chef ordered for firefighters in northwest Stafford County.

The great distance between the power pole and the oil station caused a banana shaped loop in the lines. The passage through the tree grove made things even more interesting.

IMG_0549A closer inspection of the lines above the charred grass revealed a slightly blackened spot on the middle line. And as you focused even closer on the spot – it began to glow.

Midwest Energy was requested as firefighters doused the entire area with a deluge of water. Just as firefighters made one last pass over was when Midwest Energy representatives arrived.

This is the fourth fire in two days for firefighters – a Great Job X 4.
