A Busy Night

August 26, 2011

It all started around 5pm last evening.

The first call was a medical emergency that the St. John crew transported to Stafford Hospital. The crew was returning to St. John when the next call was radioed out – “Semi-truck on fire on Highway 281.”

The full story and awesome pictures – by Terry Spradley – of that fire are on St. John News Online.

Then came an auto accident. A car left the roadway west of St. John.

The crews were back at home – and possibly back asleep – when the dispatcher again awakened them. Approximately 200 round bales were on fire west of St. John. Fire crews arrived to find that indeed all the round bales appeared to be on fire. That fire is still under investigation since no natural source of ignition could be determined.

All in all it was a busy night for emergency crews. Thank you for all you do.

*Thanks also to Terry Spradley for doing such an incredible job covering Stafford County emergency news.
