Staying Busy

August 13, 2011

Lately, the fires have been coming in a steady stream. And, the past few weeks it’s been the Macksville show.

Macksville crews were dispatched to a wild-land fire around noon on Friday, and then again Friday evening. The evening fire is the one pictured.

A pit with a plethora of items that had been discarded was on fire. Apparently, somebody set the pit on fire.

Scraps of copper wire was strung through the pit. And, that might have been the focus of whoever it was that set the fire.

Firefighters extinguished the core of the fire and the perimeter. But, there was old tires that firefighters were unable to completely extinguish.

The pit was left smoldering and a deputy checked periodically on it through the night.
