Emergency Operations Center

June 10, 2011

The time is getting closer. After the construction of the new fire station (and moving the fire trucks from the EMS/Fire station) the two bays in the old station are being remodeled into an Emergency Operations Center.

Blocks were laid in the bay door openings. Interior walls were built by emergency crews. Insulation will also be installed by emergency personnel. Professionals will be hired to complete the electrical, heating, and air conditioning.

Many components of the construction project were salvaged from the annex project. This list includes the ceiling tile system, doors, sheet rock, ceiling fans, lights, cabinets, and trim. The entire cost of the project is being paid for with memorial funds that were donated to the department.

The EOC will be used for any major disasters and during storms. The expected completion date is 90-120 days.
