Station Clean-up

December 3, 2010

Stafford County Fire Meeting

The Stafford County Fire north stations used their monthly meeting last evening to clean up old, no longer used items at the Hudson station.  They plan on finding a home for items that have historical value.  Items of no value were discarded.

One of the valuable old items was an old red Fire Bucket – still sporting the lettering FIRE on the side of it.  A firefighter asked why the bucket was rounded on the bottom.  Retired Fire Chief Mary Miller explained the reason for the rounded bottom was so the bucket wasn’t sat on the ground.

Other items included an old hand drawn chemical wagon.  The wagon was cleaned up and put on display outside the fire station.  A second wagon

was placed on loan to the Stafford City Department.
